Price Floors Legal
Posted by Ricki Steigerwald under Micro-Biz News
The Supreme Court ruled last week in a 5-4 decision that retailers and manufacturers can set minimum price floors if it promotes competition. This reverses a decision made in 1911 that price floors violated the federal antitrust law.
A price floor is an agreement among companies setting the minimum price a product or service must be sold at. An example of a price floor is our minimum wage law.
